As a whole, BtVS is awesome, but at times I felt the show was saying that males aren’t worth a damn. With good witches being only female, the Vengeance Demons only catering to stupid female whims, Xander’s status as buttmonkey and lowly human while his best friend because a powerful witch, the horrific screwing up of Buffy’s father (which I will NEVER accept), and men generally being either the problem or most prominently casualties. Giles and Oz are kind of the aversion, but usually are underused.

Yes, because men are so often unfairly or under represented in media. It must be really difficult to be a man. I feel for you. Good call on the “stupid female whims” bit too, you’ve really nailed it. Way not to come accross like a privileged, sexist arse.

I’m glad someone said what I was going to. Aside from assuming the gender of the submitter of this. I don’t care whether you’re male or just feeding into the idea that men should always be front, center and perfect.

Perfect commentary is perfect.
Confessor: Your comment only makes sense if you believe the existence or characterization of powerful women needs to be either balanced by or justified by the existence or characterization of men who are either just as or more powerful (which, if you were paying a single ounce of attention at any point in the entire series, you would see plenty of men who are powerful and important). You have plenty of places to go where men are the centered, where men are all-powerful (like, literally pretty much every other piece of mainstream media which has ever been created). You’re not going to get any sympathy from the Buffy fandom for your inability to understand men are not the center of the universe.
TL;DR
Go away.

Reblogging for the commentary, sums my thoughts up perfectly.
